Friday night is takeaway night and hip-hip-hooray that means a Holy Cow! None other than that berk, “Dr” Neil Fox describes it “as a brilliant takeaway, which does the best curries ever” and the man, for once, speaks sense.
Holy Cow delivers consistently and quickly the best take-away curry I have ever had the immense luck and pleasure to scoff.  It arrives in time, with a smile, and as soon as you smell it you know you’re in for a treat. It’s reasonably priced and comes with free popadoms, which is always a welcome touch.

I have gotten into rather a groove of ordering the same thing ever time of late: onion pakora, lamb tikka masala, pilau rice, garlic naan and sometimes the aloo palak or lamb samosa if I am feeling flush but the peshwari naan and tandoori chicken are also worth a shout-out.

The Naan breads are soft, floury pillows, punctuated with powerful flavours.  The pakoras are crisp and slightly sweet.  The tikka masala is simply sublime. A smooth, creamy lightly spiced sauce with tender melting meat. I have to stop myself from wolfing it down without breathing.

It is hard to explain quite how legendary this take-away is but nothing I have ever eaten from this place has been anything other than a treat.  I think there are now 4 Holy Cows dotted around London, but I only wish every neighbourhood had one.
