Not much to say about this guilty pleasure. Beer and nuts are a marriage made in the pub. There are few finer pleasures than those found in a warm pub on a cold winter’s day (or a cool beer-garden on a summer’s day…). A a pint of tasty beer, your best mates and a big bowl of nuts.
There really isn’t a nut I don’t love: the chilli cashew, the sweet almond, the spicy wasabi or the humble dry-roasted peanut, heroes all.
A footnote to my love-note to nuts is just a thank you. A thank you for the nuts that have soaked up the alcohol on those impromptu boozey school nights when I have skipped dinner and drunk my body weight. Were it not for your nutty brilliance, my hangovers would have been killers. I owe you so much. Thank you.
